Whenever a bride has a long veil I always hope for a windy day. At this Seven Springs wedding, Laurel’s veil was six feet long! Laurel, who works at David’s Bridal, made her own wedding dress, including the veil. As we were shooting the bridal portraits I kept hoping the wind would pick up. It never did so I had the maid of honor…
Laurel & Jake were married yesterday at a place called Seven Springs Ranch. It’s located in Glide, Oregon, some 15 miles east of Roseburg. The bridal portraits took place at the hottest part of the day, with the sun shining almost directly overhead. Just down the hill from the bridal suite was this rustic looking spot, complete with dappled light. Looking at the Seven…
The wedding I shot this past weekend took place at Loloma Lodge, 44 miles up the McKenzie River. There are a great many trees there, which means lots of open shade for group photos. Using one speedlight mounted on a stand with a large white umbrella, I attached another speedlight to my camera for some slight fill. There was also some natural sunlight coming in…
Sophia & Nate were married in Dorena, Oregon and wanted to include some photos of them on their sailboat. This shot was taken on Dorena Lake.
Before I get too busy with the rest of my 2012 weddings, I thought I’d post another image from Mt Hood Organic Farms. The sun had already set and the only light in this photo came from the fellow with the sparkler…
Allison and Josh were married at Mt Hood Organic Farm this past Saturday. Located 15 miles south of Hood River, the farm has a spectacular view of Mt Hood and is a great wedding venue. I’m just now going through all the images in Lightroom and have picked out a few favorites for this post. And here’s another one from…
This is from a wedding I shot last Saturday, along the Willamette River near Harrisburg (Oregon), at The Riverbend Resort. I had Robert leap off the rock you see behind the bride, and I told him to jump away from her so there’d be some spacing between them.
It’s that time of year again; the time of year here in western Oregon when we have long nights with lots of golden sunsets. Danielle & Brian were married at The Pavilion at King Estate.
The golf course at The Sandtrap (another amazing McMenamins venue) was empty for a spell so I decided to have the wedding party race towards me. Looks like the bride wins!
