The Diamond

Diamonds are April’s birthstone. I’ve seen plenty of diamonds over the years, in all shapes, colors and sizes. This image is of the diamond engagement ring Wayne gave to Jennifer. And here are a few more, from recent shoots:

Hendricks Park E-Session

Here are a couple more from last week’s e-session at Hendricks Park with Jen & Wayne.

Hendricks Park Engagement

Jen and Wayne are getting married soon (they have yet to pick a date), and they were the winners of my free-engagement-session drawing at the Eugene Bridal Show this past January. Since Wayne is in the RAF (the Royal Air Force, in the UK) and Jen lives in Beaverton, I was glad of the chance to get them both down to Eugene this past…

Wedding Wire article

A lot of the couples I work with use Wedding Wire for a lot of their wedding plans and I always make sure I stay in touch with that site as well. This article was quite revealing!

Oregon Coast Wedding in the Woods

Much of the Oregon coast is buffered by forest, often resembling paths right out of a Tolkien novel. At this wedding, near Yachats, Emily & Tom and wanted some photos along the ocean. Walking through this otherworldly forest, I had them stop for a few moments so I could capture this scene of them all alone, as newlyweds.

Bridal Veil Lakes Wedding Venue

Bridal Veil Lakes is located about an hour east of Portland in the town of Corbett, Oregon. It’s a truly spectacular wedding venue with all the amenities.

A junior bridesmaid

At this Dancing Deer Mountain wedding, the bride and her junior bridesmaid were very close. I really like Dancing Deer Mountain; it’s a beautiful venue and they also have on-site catering available. Most importantly, there are lots of great places for photos!

Thank You, Brides!

This year’s Oregon Wedding Showcase was a huge success and I want to thank all the brides-to-be who visited my booth. I’ve gotten quite a few bookings for 2016 (and 2017) weddings but I still have some dates open. If you’re still in the market for a wedding photographer, now’s the time!

Sunset backlighting

This image is from another Oregon vineyard wedding, at King Estate. While King Estate no longer offers wedding venue services, it’s still a fantastic place for lunch or dinner and they make great Pinot. Also, they still let me use their property for taking photographs; it’s an excellent place for engagement photos! As I’ve stated in previous posts, I normally use some form of…

Oregon Vineyard Weddings

Oregon’s Willamette Valley is loaded with amazing vineyards, and most have wedding venue facilities. Each has its own unique atmosphere and all offer wonderful photographic opportunities. This image was taken at Sylvan Ridge, located in between Eugene and Cottage Grove. The sun had just gone down and all that remained was golden light, without any shadows. In other words, my favorite time of day for…
