Diamonds in the Rough

At this Diamond Woods wedding I shot this past Saturday, Terra and Ryan were ready to party with their friends but I wanted to get some last sunset pictures before it was too late. With my 2nd shooter–Jacob Mockbee–holding my off-camera flash I was able to create this image. Then it was party time!

Spring Fling

At this Arkansas wedding I shot last year, at a place called Twin Oaks Ranch, the groomsmen were more than happy to give the groom the scare of his life as they tossed him high in the air. I love how the groom is still holding his ‘relaxed’ pose…

The Big One

Rich and Jesse made sure everyone knew they were meant for each other in this late-night, post-reception group photo. The reception was at a place called Log House Gardens, near Salem. Once the sun had set, and the temperatures cooled down a bit, people were more inclined to move back outside. I positioned one off-camera speedlight on a stand, camera-right, diffused through a large 36″…

One Sweet Ride

Kelly and Courtney were married in Portland, at the Gerding Theater (aka ‘The Armory’), which is an amazing venue right in the heart of the city. Courtney drove his classic Ranchero right up to the front door to escort Kelly away for their honeymoon.

Sunset at Beckenridge

Janet & Scott were married at Beckenridge Vineyard in Dallas, Oregon. The sun had gone down but I was still out shooting. Wanting to capture the sunset light, but still show the newlyweds well, required a little off-camera flash.

Under the Lights, at Silvan Ridge

The afternoon light at this Yachats wedding along the Oregon Coast was a little flat, but it also gave off a unique yellow hue. This was due to the yellow tones of the sand being reflected by the overcast skies. I decided not to use any artificial lighting for this shoot. First off, it was extremely windy and any off-camera lights would have been…

Oregon Coast wedding, great light!

As I was walking with Amy and Jeff, along the Oregon Coast, a huge ray of light appeared, shining directly onto the newlyweds. What a treat!

A Mother’s Dream

Every parent wants to see their children happily married and so it was with this wedding. Emily and Luke are a perfect match and Emily’s mom couldn’t be happier. This wedding ceremony took place on the University of Oregon campus, in the quad area between PLC and the Knight Library. Matt Emrich Photo

The Wedding Album

The best way to preserve all your wedding images is with a high quality album, printed on thick archival paper that’s resistant to fading. I encourage all my newlyweds to purchase their albums when they make their initial booking with me; it’s always nice to get back all those wonderful memories in a beautiful, professionally bound wedding album. My biggest selling wedding album is…
