Emily & Bilyan were married in the Serbian Orthodox church here in Eugene last Sunday, but wanted their formal photos taken out at Mt Pisgah. It had been cloudy and raining most of the morning so we were all very happy with how the weather turned out later in the afternoon. Having scouted out the area the day before, I came across this old tree and knew I had to use it in some of their photos. I really like the contrast of the rustic, grainy wood juxtaposed against the formal wedding attire of the bride and groom. A little fill flash to light up their faces was all that was needed to complete the scene. Emily and Bilyan live in Chicago and are having a reception there in three weeks…I’m betting all their guests will wish they lived in Oregon!
Yes, the photos on the tree are among our favorites too. And it is not easy to pick favorites from a ton of wonderful photos. I say that after reviewing all of them in detail!
Having caught the photography bug ourselves, we insisted on finding a photographer who was WAY better than the bunch. Matt came highly recommended from our Orthodox priest (and sponsor of sorts) and we are very happy we worked with him! THANK YOU, Matt!
