Getting their groove on, Part II

Jacob and his groomsmen all had their own turn to light up the dance floor. I think it’s great when the guys get up and dance!

Getting their groove on, Part 1

I love it when a bride and her bridesmaids are all out on the dance floor. Such great energy. I decided to convert this image to black and white since the color balance was off the charts (tungsten lighting from thousands of Christmas-type lights, my own Canon flashes, and the multi-colored lights spilling forth from the DJ’s setup, plus the last of the day’s ambient light)

Honeymoon Bound!

It’s not often that a wedding reception wraps up before dark but that was the case with this wedding…the bride and groom just couldn’t wait for the honeymoon! It was a warm night and I had the top down on my own car as I followed the couple over the Ferry St Bridge, shooting as I drove.

Daddy’s Little Girl

Before this ceremony got underway, the father of the bride was as calm and as jovial as could be. Once it began , however, he choked up as he watched his little girl proclaim her vows.

A Gossamer Dream, an Emerald Valley Golf Resort Wedding

Elise’s veil was over seven feet long and she needed every inch of it to help keep her warm during her Emerald Valley Golf Resort wedding this past weekend; it was freezing! The veil was also a great scene setter, like in this shot of Elise  adding some final touches to her makeup before she walked down the aisle.

A Very Portland Engagement

This is another image from the e-session I shot in Portland, with Jenny and Johnny, at Tanner Springs Park.

All Inclusive

Why do I love to shoot weddings? Imagine this:

Your day begins at the hair salon, where you and all your bridesmaids get your hair and makeup looking just right. And perhaps share a mimosa or two…

From the salon you move on to the venue, excited to try on that dress and knowing that, this time, your husband-to-be will finally get to see you in it!

The ceremony itself is a dream; you both get to tell each other, in front of all your family and friends, how much you want to be together.

The rings are on, the vows have been spoken; now it’s time to party! There’s a festive cocktail hour, during which your guests are entertained by your awesome DJ while you’re off getting your formal photos taken.

The DJ does a great job announcing you to your guests as you enter the reception. Dinner and dancing ensue, followed by cake cutting and bouquet tossing.

Now it’s time for your getaway car to whisk you away to your hotel for the night, where you wake up early and head to the airport to begin your honeymoon.

Sounds like an amazing day, doesn’t it? And I get to be there for all of it (well, except for that last part:), capturing forever the memories of your most important day.

That’s why I have the best job in the world 🙂

Floating on Air

Vinnie had a few stout groomsmen who were more than capable of picking up the bride and groom and parading them around the dance floor.

Happy New Year!

A new year and a new beginning; what a fitting time to get married:)

This Los Angeles couple were married at the groom’s grandmother’s property. The hammock in the trees was the perfect place to wind up the evening.

A Freestylin’ Frolic In The Fescue

Vinnie and Valerie were married at Vinnie’s grandparents’ place along the Umpqua River near Scottsburg, Oregon. I really liked the tall grass and blooming yarrow in this field, as well as the rustic fence that surrounded it.

We spent about 15 minutes in this field and this was their favorite image. I asked them to see who could run to me the fastest and Vinnie, ever the gentleman, made sure his bride went first:)
