Here’s another one from this past Sunday, along the Oregon coast near Gearhart and The Sandtrap Hotel. The clouds had just lifted and the sky was a very nice shade of blue.

I used a slight gaussian blur on this image, then ‘painted’ the bride’s eyes back in at 100% of the original, sharper image, and the rest of her at around 80%. This particular bride likes soft-focus images so I did work like this on a few from her wedding at Whisper’n’Oaks last week. I used Adobe Lightroom for processing the RAW file and Adobe Photoshop for the gaussian blur.

During the bridal portrait session last week, at Whisper’n’Oaks, this bride spotted a guest wearing a cowboy hat. She asked if she could put it on and I really like how it completed the image with the corral fence in the background. I lit this using three of Canon’s new 600EX-RT speedlights; they’re amazing!

It’s not every couple that gets to ride away from their reception in the back of a 1967 Cadillac convertible. Igor and Athena were lucky enough to find this one, from Sunshine Limousine.
I have a convertible myself so I was able to follow them as they sped away from Dancing Deer Mountain, holding my camera over my head with one hand as I kept my other one on the wheel:)

This is an image I like to create at a lot of my weddings: just the flowers in focus with the couple behind them. When the wind picked up during this particular shoot it created some nice, dynamic movement.
You’ll notice this is the full image from one of my rotating header images at the very top of the page.

When I shot my first Cyprus wedding a couple years ago, I met with the bride in her suite; it was the honeymoon suite. My own room was in a different hotel altogether so I thought I’d have a peek out of the bride’s balcony to see what the view looked like. Wow! The pool leads directly out to the Mediterranean. I’m putting this post up so I can remember what sunshine and warm air feels like:)

Here are a few more images from Amie & Curt’s wedding at Eagle Rock Lodge, located on the banks of the McKenzie River. Since it’s a rainy time of year here in western Oregon I thought these photos were appropriate.

I wish I could remember the name of that park in NW Portland! (where I took Jenni and Johnny for their engagement photos) This fence is made up of old railroad tracks, all rusted out. This just in: I remembered the name of that park. It’s called Tanner Springs, and it’s between 10th & 11th and Northrup & Marshall.

Jenni & Johnny wanted their engagement photos shot in Portland. Since it was 103 degrees that day I decided we’d better wait until just after sunset and that we’d better find somewhere near water. This park, in NW Portland, fit the bill.
